The number of COVID-19 cases in the US has increased by 198,357 in the last 24 hours, Johns Hopkins University reported.
A total of 3,019 patients with the confirmed disease have died in the United States over the past 24 hours, the university noted.
More than 16.7 million COVID-19 cases have been detected since the beginning of the pandemic in the US and over 303 thousand people have died.
