Armenia’s police detained over 170 criminals over 1.5 years wanted by the Russian law enforcers, said chief of Armenia’s police Alik Sargsyan.

Speaking at a joint meeting of Armenian and Russian policemen, Sargsyan said cooperation between the two countries yielded results, RIA Novosti reports.

“Russia extradited 51 criminals to Armenia in 2010, while 13 were extradited over the first quarter of 2011,” he added.

Last year 132 suspects and criminals wanted by Russia’s law enforcers were detained in Armenia. Six of them have been already handed to the Russian side, he noted.
