YEREVAN. - Some members of the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) can meet with doormen of the residence of the Republican Party of Armenia, if they have so far sat at the negotiating table and held a dialogue with them, MP from ruling Republican Party of Armenia Gagik Melikyan told a press conference on Wednesday. He commented on the statement by the Chairman of the board of the Armenian National Movement Aram Manukyan.

Melikyan stressed that the ANC’s tactics is unacceptable. “One should not take serious proposals impudently. There is no need for Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s personal response,” the MP noted.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, the Armenian National Congress is unwilling to respond to the statement by Chief of Armenian President’s Staff Karen Karapetyan, expecting an answer from Serzh Sargsyan himself.  

“Karapetyan’s statement is not a basis for the ANC, as the statement does not indicate that the head of presidential staff is an authorized person. Even a doorman in Serzh Sargsyan’s administration may make a statement, if he is authorized,” Aram Manukyan in an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am.
