TBILISI. - A Georgian serviceman was killed during a peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan. According to the Georgian Defense Ministry, Georgian military serviceman Gia Goguadze was injured during the attack of the insurgents. He was hospitalized, but doctors failed to save his life.

Goguadze from the III Infantry Brigade was serving in NATO-led ISAF mission in the province of Helmand. He had been serving in the Georgian Armed Forces since 2010.

The serviceman’s body was transferred to Georgia. The Ministry of Defense of Georgia extends its condolences over the death of the private Gia Goguadze. His family will receive the social assistance defined by the Georgian legislation, Georgia Online reports.
