GYUMRI. - Shirak region police department filed a criminal case on the murder of 65-year-old doctor Ashot Grigoryan, Shirak regional police department told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Forensic medical expertise revealed that the doctor died on June 26, as a consequence of beating.

Earlier Gyumri city first aid service chief medical expert Robert Tonoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that surgeon of Gyumri city medical emergency service Ashot Grigoryan, 65, was killed by the son of the patient, whom he tried to assist,

According to him, the son of the patient, Artak Karapatyan, beat up the physician five times before and after entering the apartment.

“The group did not turn back, for the fear of letting the patient die. The medical assistance was properly rendered, however when they tried to return, he started beating again,” Tonoyan added.

According to the driver of ambulance Sargis Karapetyan, Artak Karapetyan pulled the doctor out of the car, dragged him upstairs and beat him up to death. He also punched the driver and the nurse, as they tried to stop him.
