YEREVAN. - The situation with fire on the contact line between Armenia and Azerbaijan is under control, said deputy head of the Emergency Ministry’s rescue service Pavel Gezalyan.
Speaking about repeating fires on the contact line, Gezalyan said that agricultural works are not over in the Azerbaijani territory, lack of fires can be explained by this.
According to him, often Azerbaijani peasants burn garbage, and aside of deliberate arson, those actions can also cause fire.
Until agriculture works continue in the Azerbaijani side, no one can say that the fire would not spread to the Armenian side, or destroy Azerbaijani crops.
But when the field works are completed, we can expect fires, including arson, Gezalyan added.
