KIEV. - Ukraine considers Armenian President’s official visit to Kiev a friendly gesture, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych stated at the Ukrainian-Armenian talks on Friday, RBK-Ukraina reports.

Thepresidents discussed perspectives of economic cooperation. President Yanukovych stressed that the potential of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic spheres is not fully used.

Yanukovych noted Ukraine is grateful to Armenia for the support at international organizations, which creates conditions to pursue an active and open cooperation policy. Yanukovych also emphasized Ukraine welcomes the economic growth in Armenia recorded within the last year.

The Ukrainian leader also referred to the top priority issues.

“Improvement of the interstate cooperation and high-level contacts are among priority issues,” he noted, adding such ties contribute to seeking solutions to a wide spectrum of mutually beneficial tasks.
