A new ash cloud caused by Icelandic volcano eruption shut down London airports this night.

The major part of UK and Ireland’s air space was closed on May 16, RFE/RL reports.

According to UK’s air traffic control service, current restrictions will not be long lasting, as the cloud is lifting and drifting to the south.

The major part of Europe’s air space was closed for several days due volcanic ash in mid April.
