YEREVAN.- Chief of the Armenian police Alik Sargsyan categorically dismissed accusations of Azerbaijan regarding alleged transit and production of drugs in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Responding to a question about constant accusations of Azerbaijan, Sargsyan stressed that the charges are completely groundless.

“There is no reason for such allegations,” Alik Sargsyan told a briefing following the meeting of CSTO Coordination Council on fight against drug trafficking.  

In terms of protection from drug trafficking Nagorno-Karabakh is in a better position than Armenia, he added.

Alik Sargsyan stressed that rumors about “drug production in Nagorno-Karabakh” are spread by Azerbaijani press with a specific purpose.

“It is another reason for speculations to cast dirt at Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh,” he concluded.
