YEREVAN. – Yerevan hosted Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) 10th Coordinating Council session on struggle against illegal drug trafficking. CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha also participated in the session.

Participants exchanged thoughts on struggling against illegal drug trafficking, role of the Coordinating Council, possibility of establishing anti-drug bodies in the region, preventing threat from Afghanistan, and improving methods of struggle.

It was mentioned that Kanal (The Channel) operation became an important element in preventing illegal drug trafficking. 2993 crimes were revealed and more than three tones of drugs were confiscated during the anti-drug Kanal-East operation. Another meeting will be hold with the participation of Chinese representatives.
