EU hopes to see progress in the Karabakh peace process by the time of the planned Eastern Partnership Summit in September in Warsaw, said EU Foreign Affairs High Representative Catherine Ashton.

Addressing European Parliament MPs, Ashton recalled the Union is ready to step up its efforts in support of the work of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs.

The official considers that EU needs to work closely with those who play significant role in the South Caucasus region, with regional actors like Turkey.

“Perhaps our most important contribution, however, will be to continue strengthen our bilateral relations with both Armenia and Azerbaijan,” she added.
