YEREVAN.- Member of ruling Republican Party of Armenia Hamlet Harutunyan considers right opposition’s demand for snap elections.

Thus, the opposition is trying to show its political weight, he told journalists on Friday.

“The point is there is no need in early elections. The Armenian National Congress (ANC) is just staging political scenario. Their demands are logical,” the MP said.

Harutunyan considers that authorities-opposition dialogue forms new political culture. However, he stressed that at the same time the opposition denies all proposals made by country’s leadership.

During the last opposition rally, its leader Levon Ter-Petrosayn said he gives time to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan to establish dialogue until September 1. Unless it happens, the ANC will take decisive steps.
