YEREVAN.- Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Friday for him to convey Russian President’s message regarding the Karabakh peace process.
President Sargsyan gave appraisal of efforts of the OSCE co-chairing states’ leaders to resolve the Karabakh conflict and establish peace and stability in the region, presidential press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude to the Russian President for his personal efforts and confirmed the interest of making progress in the Karabakh peace process. He said the Armenian side would study the message and proposals to prepare a response in the near future.
“We want the conflict to be resolved so as peace and stability is established in the region,” Sargsyan added.
In his turn Minister Lavrov stressed that Dmitry Medvedev is interested in success of the Karabakh peace process and is confident there are all prerequisites for reaching an agreement.
