YEREVAN. - As of July 9, 520 people were released under the amnesty which was proposed by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. The amnesty was approved by the Armenian parliament on May 27 on the occasion of 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.
Sentences of 247 prisoners were reduced.
