YEREVAN.- Political conflicts should not hinder initiatives held in the field of tourism, said expert from the UN World Tourism Organization Elen Berman.
On the contrary, tourism may create favorable conditions for resolution of conflicts, she told journalists on Tuesday.
The UN expert also noted that Armenia and Georgia are very stable countries, much more stable than many other states. She considers Armenia is a very attractive destination for tourists, but there are still few signs on the roads.
The UN World Tourism Organization and the Armenian Ministry of Economy signed last week a memorandum to encourage regional tourism.
