YEREVAN.- Armenian policeman was arrested on Friday on suspicion of  receiving bribes, reliable sources informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Information was confirmed by head of police press service Ashot Aharonyan.

Stepan Simonyan was caught in the act of receiving $500 bribe, he said. Preliminary investigation is underway.

The arrest is continuation of anti-corruption campaign launched by police chief Alik Sargsyan.
