Israeli security forces fired rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse Palestinian Arab protests in the West Bank city of Nablus. Five people were wounded by rubber bullets, and another 92 victims show signs of suffocation from the effects of tear gas, TASS reports with reference to the WAFA agency.
Palestinians protested against the construction by the Israeli authorities on Mount Sabih of houses for Jewish settlers on land confiscated from the Arabs. However, police forces blocked their way and dispersed the demonstration.
According to the agency, clashes between Palestinians and Jewish settlers took place in Qalqilya and East Jerusalem, where information about the victims was also received. In Hebron, the Israeli authorities arrested six protesters. Increased security measures have been taken in Jenin, where army posts around the settlement of Khomish have been reinforced.
