The Kurdish Firat news agency claims 13 Turkish soldiers were killed by Turkish aviation.

The eyewitness told Firat that military planes attacked the territory where clashes between Turkish soldiers and Kurdish rebels continued. Fire broke out killing soldiers, they said.

Thirteen Turkish soldiers were killed and another seven were wounded in clashes with Kurdish rebels in Diyarbakir province on Thursday.

Ahead of her visit to Turkey Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent condolences to the families and friends of the victims. “We stand with Turkey in its fight against the PKK, a designated terrorist organization which has claimed tens of thousands of Turkish lives. We support Turkey in its fight against terror and we will continue to work with the Government of Turkey to combat terrorism in all its forms,” she said.
