YEREVAN.- Hungarian director Bela Tarr presented his The Turin Horse film on Friday within the framework of retrospective of his films at the Golden Apricot film festival.
During discussions about the film and a press conference Tarr spoke about meaning of life and essence of human being.
“All we are moving to death even if we do not realize it. Anticipation of death is reflected in The Turin Horse,” he told journalists on Saturday.
As to difference between his movies and the mainstream films, Tarr said a story prevails in popular films.
“There is an information flow. Such films are like junk food. Here in Armenia it is senseless to speak of difference between junk and home-made food,” he said.
Tonight Bela Tarr and other guests will participate in the closing ceremony of Golden Apricot Film Festival.
The Golden Apricot International Film Festival is held in Armenia on July 10-17. The festival has received 135 film entries, 25 out of them from 18 countries were selected for the competition.
