YEREVAN. - The aim of the political dialogue between Armenian authorities and the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) is to obtain and retain power, not to solve issues of Armenian public, MP from Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD) Artsvik Minasyan told a press conference in Yerevan on Wednesday.
He stressed that the ARFD is not inclined to participate in such a format, since it is primarily interested in people’s problems and seeking their solutions, not partisan interests.
“We are interested in results rather than process,” Minasyan noted.
The MP wondered if the government and the ANC are talking about tolerance, why the ANC slings mud at other oppositional forces and authorities are trying to marginalize them.
The MP said that the ANC and the government are engaged in purposeless chatter, otherwise they would not hold empty talks on snap elections, at least realizing parliamentary snap elections are out of the question.
As reported earlier, on July 18 the government and the ANC started consultations, but the specific agenda is unclear yet. There is no agreement on further meetings either.
