YEREVAN. – Armenian newspaper Azg wrote about public concern on poor condition of Sanahin monastery complex.

“We will not stay silent” youth initiative speaks on poor condition of the monastery to invite public and state officials’ attention on the issue. Eventually, Ministry of Culture responded to those accusations and declared that the monastery will be reconstructed in the near future.

According to the Ministry release, Sanahin is under the full control of Armenian apostolic Church since 2011. Moreover, it is included in UNESCO World Heritage List. German specialists have already made measurements for the Southern front of the church, which suffered most. The reconstruction works will start in 2012 and will require AMD 90 million, newspaper reports.
