YEREVAN. – U.S. dollar continues its devaluation. The average USD/AMD exchange rate made AMD 365.13/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Monday. Its devaluation made 0.23 percent compared to Friday.

It is possible that Armenian Central Bank (CBA) influenced the market as great number of transactions was made. Sales totaled $14.9 million. This is a large amount compared to $18.5 million for a whole last week. Besides, CBA purchased $6.9 million to prevent extreme strengthening of the Armenian currency. However, the intervention was late.

The situation will be unstable till August 2 in the Armenian financial market. Its stabilization is connected to American default issue.
