YEREVAN. - According to an international statistics, every third baby suffers from allergies in the world. If those rates continue, 50 percent of babies will suffer from the allergy by 2015, pediatrician - allergologist of Arabkir medical center Astghik Baghdasaryan told the journalists on Saturday.
Red cheeks and dry skin are most frequently observed in early childhood. This speaks of diathesis. The specialist advises to pay special attention to those children, bathe them with special measures and follow special ration.
“There is a hypothesis that if the child contacts with microbes from early childhood, the child will develope properly. But it is not true. The only prophylactic measure is breast feeding and proper treatment of skin,” Baghdasaryan stated and added that in case of allergy, one should turn to the doctor.
The doctor also reminded that toys may cause allergy as well.
