YEREVAN. – The number of people with allergies increased as life standards grow up in Armenia, pediatrician - allergologist of Arabkir medical center Astghik Baghdasaryan told the journalists on Saturday. That phenomenon is mostly spread in Britain, less in African states, she added.

“Currently the version of hygiene is circulated. In the states where the level of hygiene is low, allergies are less. While the level of hygiene is high in developed states, thus, cases of allergies are more,” Baghdasaryan told and added that quality of food, ecological status are closely connected to allergies, however, they do not cause the increase of allergies.

The most dangerous and most common allergen is pollen of wildflowers. The season starts from April and ends in September. So people with this diagnosis should turn to the doctor for precautions.

Allergen is an antigen that causes allergic reaction in people sensitive for it. They can be of various types. Summer allergies start from early spring and last till late fall. There are also seasonal allergies, caused by insects. Allergies do not depend on sex or age. All people are apt to allergies.
