Russia’s court has sentenced a citizen of Armenia, Vahe Melkonyan accused of smuggling military goods and substances, which can be used to create weapons of mass destruction.

During the trial the defendant pleaded guilty, Interfax reported.  

Melkonyan who was detained last year on the Russian-Ukrainian border, was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months imprisonment and a fine of 80 thousand rubles.
