YEREVAN. - According to the birth rate table, 37 thousand first-graders will attend school for the first time in the 2011-2012 academic year, the Head of Information and Public Relations Department of Armenian Ministry of Education and Science Artur Baghdasaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Currently there are 1400 schools, in Armenia, 59 of which are private. In private schools the monthly fee is AMD 25-30 thousand (around $ 75), sometimes reaching up to AMD 60 thousand (around $160). The state does not regulate the fee amount in private schools.
