At the October 23 meeting, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Tina S. Kaidanow discussed regional issues, particularly Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution as well as Azerbaijan-U.S. relations.

On October 21-22, Tina S. Kaidanow arrived in Armenia in the framework of the regional visit. She had meetings with RA President Serzh Sargsyan, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan and other high ranking diplomats. October 23, 2009 Kaidanow left for Tbilisi and thereupon — in Baku.
