YEREVAN. – “The dialogue between the Armenian authorities and opposition has no future,” MP from the oppositional “Heritage party” Stepan Safaryan told reporters on Wednesday.

The MP stressed there is an objective tension between the parties participating in the dialogue and those not involved (it does not mean they are envious or jealous). Safaryan said willingly or unwillingly the status-quo will change in Armenia’s political field and new actions and formats will be expected.

“The behavior of the political forces undergoes metamorphosis. This is quite objective, as elections are very close,” Safaryan noted.

Commenting on the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) as an alternative to the incumbent authorities, Safaryan stressed if the ANC was considered as such in 2008, now it cannot lay claim to it. This accounts for the fact that in recent years the ANC has been holding positions similar to those of the current authorities.

In his turn, MP from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Artak Zakaryan highlighted the fact of a dialogue. “The dialogue becomes a work style, a process that could resume any moment,” he said.
