YEREVAN.- Armenian authorities have not responded to Turkey’s decision to recognize Armenian-Turkish protocols invalid.

Such inactivity and connivance of the Armenian leadership in response to steps taken by Turkey and Azerbaijan has become usual, Yerkir newspaper writes.

The newspaper notes that in contrast to Armenia, Turkey “makes fuss” on every occasion.

“In particular, when the protocols were frozen in the Armenian parliament under President Sargsyan’s order, Turkey got hysterical. This caused a chain reaction, and the world powers, standing for the protocols, repeatedly raised this issue instigated by Turkey,” the newspaper writes.

Turkish leadership devotes a week to analyze actions of the Armenian authorities in a given situation, which does not suit them.

“However, our officials, instead of giving an adequate response, began to search for guilty within the country and find out whether the Armenian Genocide issue will be discussed by historians or  intergovernmental commission once the protocols are ratified,” the article says.

In October 2009 Armenia and Turkey signed protocols in Zurich to normalize diplomatic relations between the states. The documents had to be ratified in both countries’ parliaments. However, in 2010 the Armenian president suspended the process due to Turkey’s non-constructive stance. Ankara set preconditions and linked the reconciliation process to resolution of the Karabakh conflict.
