YEREVAN.- Russian citizen suspected of murder in Yerevan pleaded guilty saying he committed a crime for purposes of self-defense.

Georgy P., 25, came to police department on Saturday saying he had shot dead 36-yer-old Hrant Matulyan for purposes of self-defense after the latter attacked him with an axe.  

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, corpse of a 36-year-old Hrant Matulyan with traces of blood was found on in Yerevan on Friday. Police found out that he was shot in his apartment at 07.30 p.m. on the same day by a 25-year-old citizen of Russia Georgy P. Searching the apartment, police found the gun and the bullets. The weapon was sent for the expertise.
