YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: After returning from Prague, [PM] Nikol Pashinyan had convened the first session of the Security Council [(SC)] yesterday, with an expanded composition. (...).
It is noteworthy that the day before, Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] President Arayik Harutyunyan had announced that he was coming to Armenia to meet the official circles. They could have convened the [SC] session one day later so that the Artsakh president participate. A year ago, not only the AR [(Artsakh Republic)] president was participating in the RA SC sessions, but also [Artsakh] SC secretary Vitaly Balasanyan, sometimes [some] other [Artsakh] officials as well.
Pashinyan, in fact, is trying to convince [Azerbaijani president] Aliyev that the issue of Artsakh is closed for Armenia. It is not ruled out that this is Aliyev's direct demand [to Armenia’s authorities] not only not to go to Artsakh, but also not to receive Artsakh officials, not to hold joint sessions [with them].
There are reports that Pashinyan is trying to decapitate the Artsakh authorities, to get Harutyunyan to resign, so that then it will not be possible to elect a [new Artsakh] president, and the state structures be paralyzed, Artsakh become a headless body. It is no coincidence that one of the organizers of the [protest] actions that took place in [Artsakh] Stepanakert the other day was Tigran Petrosyan, who has connections with the RA authorities.
