Turkey expects Finland to fulfill the obligations of the memorandum signed with Ankara on NATO membership, Turkish defense minister Hulusi Akar has said.
"During the meeting with the Minister of Defense of Finland Antti Kaikkonen, Minister Akar said that they expect from Finland the fulfillment of the obligations assumed under the memorandum signed in Madrid and concrete steps in that regard," notes in particular, the respective statement by the Turkish defense ministry.
As of October 6, 28 of the 30 NATO countries—except for Turkey and Hungary—have already approved the NATO membership bid of Finland and Sweden.
