YEREVAN. – Armenian Army still has the impact of the Soviet heritage, oppositional Armenian Revolutionary Federation MP Hrayr Karapetyan told the journalists on Thursday.

“Most cases occur in the Russian army, then the rest of the post Soviet states. Commanders who fail to meet their mission, regardless of their offices, have no place in our army. It is not possible to solve all the issues immediately but they should be solved soon,” Karapetyan said.

The Armenian parliament held hearings, where representatives from Armenian MOD, military police, MPs and NGOs participated. Karapetyan offers to thoroughly revise the law and ratify rights and responsibilities of the officers by law. If the law is in power in the Army, tragic events will happen less frequent, he insists.
