It is encouraging to see Armenian support in the face of such a great tragedy in Turkey, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Georgia Toivo Klaar tweeted.

"In the face of so much tragedy in it is heartwarming to see the support that it’s neighbour has provided and the positive response this has engendered," he tweeted.

Earlier, Turkey's special representative in the talks on the normalization of relations with Armenia, Serdar Kilic, thanked Armenia for the help provided to Turkey after the earthquake.

He informed that 5 trucks with 100 tons of food, medicines, water and other emergency aid packages crossed the Armenian-Turkish border and were bound to Adyaman city in Turkey.

The Armenian government also sent 27 rescue teams to Turkey.

According to the latest data the death toll from the earthquake in Turkey has exceeded 24,600.
