STEPANAKERT. – Situation at the line of contact between Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces was still tense in the past week.  

In line with operative data from Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Army, the adversary’s military subdivisions, having fired around 1,600 shots at virtually all directions of the frontline, have violated the ceasefire more than 280 times.   

As a result of the Azerbaijani army’s aggressive operations, one injury was recorded as, on Monday at 4:25 p.m., the Defense Army’s 19-year-old Lance Corporal Vahe Manukyan received an average-degree gunshot wound at a military defensive position of Martakert. After the Defense Army subdivisions’ retaliatory operations, the adversary’s activeness was suppressed. According to preliminary information, the Azerbaijani armed forces likewise had losses.    

Aside from the ceasefire violations at the frontline, in the past 7 days the adversary’s unmanned devices have carried out several reconnaissance flights along the line of contact . The Defense Army’s air defense servicemen confirmed their operations and took corresponding preventive measures, when necessary. On Monday at 7:30 a.m., in particular, and as a result of the special measures taken by the Defense Army’s Air Defense and Radio Electronics subdivisions, a drone from the Azerbaijani air force was disabled nearby Vazgenashen village of Martuni region.

Parts of the downed plane are kept at the Defense Army’s respective services. A commission is formed to study the details of the incident, and an investigation is underway
