Another newborn died in the hospital of Armenia’s Vayk city, Hraparak daily writes. The case of this second child’s death is interesting since the consulting physician was the very same Metaksia Hovhannisyan. The Vayk-resident pregnant woman had complaints in recent periods, saying she had pains, but the doctor had comforted her, saying there was no problem. Yet when the pregnant woman was taken to hospital to give birth, the doctor said she did not understand what was happening and that the woman had to be transferred to Yeghegnadzor city for a Caesarean section. Six hours after the surgery in Yeghegnadzor, however, the baby died.
The body is sent to Yerevan for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. A criminal case is not launched, as the baby’s parents have not filed a complaint since they still do not know what really happened.
