YEREVAN.- Armenia is improving its positions in international rankings, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said at the Thursday government session.
He brought an example of recent assessments given by the Heritage Foundation and International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
Armenia is ranked 36 in Foundation’s Index of Economic Freedom list. According to the rankings, Armenia is behind Georgia (29) but ahead of Azerbaijan (92) and Turkey (67).
Meanwhile, the ITU report said Armenia had registered progress in development of information and telecommunication technologies.
“According to ITU rankings, Armenia is a leader in the region,” Premier said stressing that high ranking is conditioned by the carried out reforms. Sargsyan advised the opponents that they should argue with international organizations publishing such rankings rather than with the Armenian government.
