YEREVAN. – The task of Armenia’s national football team is to qualify for EURO 2012, Armenian Football Federation’s President Ruben Hayrapetyan stated during a press conference on Friday. “We now have a team that enters the field only to win. The job is to win the next two games. My dream is to see the squad in [Euro 2012 host countries] the Ukraine and Poland. We will do everything to succeed.”     

“These boys are not interested in rewards. These boys play for the fans and country. These footballers were born and raised in an independent state; they are talented young men with a new mentality. Our team will play steady football in the next 6 years. The winner’s psychology must be maintained. I have said they will receive their deserving reward. In my view, the greatest reward is the people’s evaluation,” Ruben Hayrapetyan noted.     

President of Armenia’s Football Federation had earlier declared that the team would receive a 3-million-Euro bonus pay if qualifying for Euro 2012. And concerning the source for that amount, Hayrapetyan said: “We have patriots and football lovers who are calling in and saying that they are prepared to make awards.”
