YEREVAN. – It is too early for the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) to run pre-election activities, ruling RPA MP Artak Zakaryan said on Monday at the hearings “Pre-election tendencies in Armenia and cooperation opportunities between political powers.”

“There are still 8 months before the upcoming parliamentary elections. However, pre-election tendencies have already been observed. It is welcoming that society and political powers show an interest for the electoral processes. It is an achievement for a democratic system,” MP stated.

There are some political parties, which prefer to accelerate pre-election activities and build their political activities on this logic. This is based on catching electorate’s attention and presenting their projects, MP added.

Time will show how the party will cooperate. Zakaryan did not exclude new models of cooperation as opposition faces some changes.

Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled in May, 2012.
