YEREVAN. – First Instance Court of Yerevan Center-Nork Marash districts on Tuesday decided to arrest for two months another three persons of the criminal gang neutralized in Yerevan on September 23.

The court approved head of General Investigative police department and arrested Ruben Karaoglanyan, Kyaram Amoyan and Artyush Hakobyan. The latter is considered to be one of the leaders of the gang. According to another court decision the wife of Hakobyan, Mariam Hakobyan, is also arrested. Four members of the gang were arrested earlier on September 23.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, 16 people had been detained as a result of the operation. One of the gang members Gurgen Hayrapetyan, 49, tried to escape but fell off a cliff and died.

The gang has connection to several robberies of high-ranking officials. Particularly, former head of Linsey foundation Edward Bezoyan, former MP Napoleon Azizyan and former head of Malatsia district Aghvan Grigoryan were robbed.
