YEREVAN. - German Ambassador to Armenia Hans-Jochen Schmidt’s statement about Armenia’s First President—and opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) leader—Levon Ter-Petrosyan, that the current complicated situation in Armenia is an inheritance from Ter-Petrosyan, is normal, ANC representative Petros Makeyan said during a press conference on Wednesday.   

“He says what today’s authorities are saying; I assess his statement to be normal. Unfortunately, solely the international community has expectations from this regime, and now they are serving this regime so as to acquire those expectations. And if this regime does not deliver the expectations, in terms of the Karabakh issue and the Armenian-Turkish process, the international community would leave it the following day,” Makeyan noted.     

In his turn, ruling coalition’s Republican Party MP Mkrtich Minasyan said that at the UN floor President Serzh Sargsyan presented to the world Armenia’s clear-cut position on the aforesaid issues.     

During a press conference on Tuesday, German Ambassador to Armenia Hans-Jochen Schmidt had stated that the current complicated situation in Armenia is an inheritance from Levon Ter-Petrosyan. In his words, these processes were born as result of the policies of those years.
