YEREVAN.- All the members of criminal gang which committed several assaults in Yerevan have been caught, Chief of Armenia’s Police Alik Sargsyan told journalists on Thursday.

According to him, there are no relatives of officials or former law enforcers among those detained. Chief of police slammed reporters for spreading speculations over names of officials.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, sixteen members of the gang were detained as a result of police operation. One of the criminals, 49-year-old Gurgen Hayrapetyan, died falling from gorge when he was trying to escape. The gang was involved in burglaries in the houses of officials.
