YEREVAN. – Court trial on Zaruhi Petrosyan, 20, beaten to death by her husband continues. Coalition Against Violent Treatment of Women is decisive to achieve justice.

The next hearing is scheduled for September 30 at noon Armenian News-NEWS.am informs. Court heard testimony of underage E. who said that Zaruhi had been in a bad mood regularly. Besides, the neighbor’s grandmother had seen the day before Zaruhi’s death how her husband Yannis Sarkissov drags her while she defended her belly with hands [she had been pregnant].

Court hearings also presented two other testimonies. Those testimonies state that Sarkissov beat his wife. Zaruhi wanted a divorce because of her husband’s rude treatment.

The defense presented a petition to run the hearings behind closed doors. However, the court rejected the petition.
