YEREVAN. – In fact, the dialogue between opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) and the authorities is not continuing because ANC links this discourse to the release of its activists, in the case when political matters cannot be linked to legal matters, ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Rafik Petrosyan stated during a briefing with news reporters on Friday.

“The dialogue is not continuing because during the rally [Armenia’s First President and ANC leader] Levon Ter-Petrosyan declared they need to gather many people and then decide upon their course of action. Had the dialogue continued, he would not have made such declaration,” Petrosyan noted.

In his view, ANC will try to gather record number of people and thereby apply pressure on the authorities.

“Be my guest and assume power, but only through elections!” Rafik Petrosyan proposed to political opponents.
