YEREVAN. - Opposition Armenian National Congress’ (ANC) proposal to resume dialogue with the authorities will be discussed on October 3 at the National Assembly, ruling coalition’s Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Gagik Minasyan stated, during a press conference on Saturday, noting that ANC Central Office Coordinator Levon Zurabyan had called him on Friday, informing him of their readiness to resume talks.        

Minasyan also said they always favor dialogues because they are the best, effective, and civilized alternative for resolving domestic political matters. Minasyan, however, expressed a regret that their colleagues at ANC had suspended the discourse and justified it on reasons that are incomprehensible for him. “Resumption of the dialogue leads me to believe that its suspension was absolutely groundless,” he said. “I would have liked to receive an explanation from my colleagues at ANC as to why they had suspended the talks. Our people and our state have suffered from suspension of the discourse,” Minasyan maintained, adding, however, that this is solely his view, since the ruling coalition has not yet discussed ANC’s proposal.
