YEREVAN.- Citizens of Georgia were affected in a landslide in Armenia’s Tavush region on Sunday, Georgian Embassy in Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Georgia’s consul has left for the accident site. The embassy will inform the details later.

Vehicles and trucks covered by soil and stones are seen on 250-meter stretch of interstate Vanadzor-Bagratashen highway, Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports from the accident site.

As reported earlier, trucks with Georgian number plates were among the affected vehicles. Landslide also damaged electricity lines. Ayrum and Lchkadzor villages, as well as railway station are deprived of electricity.

Armenian Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan has arrived at the site.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, seven people were hospitalized in a landslide in Armenia’s Tavush Region on Sunday near the border with Georgia.

They were taken to hospital with bodily injuries after receiving medical aid at the site. All the injured are citizens of Yerevan.
