YEREVAN. - The largest exchange rate fluctuation in 2011 was registered on NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Monday. The average rate made AMD 376.50/$1.

No foreign currency transactions were registered during the previous session last Friday, while on Thursday the rate made AMD 373/$1. A 0.94% change in the rate is the largest fluctuation registered this year.

Sales totaled $6.4 million. It is not ruled out that the Central Bank of Armenia interfered with deals, but, taking into account the recent sharp fluctuations, CBA’s measures are not effective.

Fluctuations are a result of speculative actions of bank dealers, the evidence thereof is a stable market on the weekend when no deals were made on stock exchange.
