YEREVAN. – Poverty is growing in Armenia and the budget, which does not secure growth, is at its basis, opposition Heritage Party’s Parliamentary Faction member Larisa Alaverdyan stated on Tuesday.  

In her view, the draft 2012 state budget continues with all the traditions of the budgets, of the previous 12 years, which were constantly criticized. And although Heritage Faction has not yet formally expressed its position on this budget proposal, Alaverdyan already has a negative opinion on it.  

The MP also noted that budget allocations for libraries and museums are reduced, in the case when UNESCO declared Yerevan as 2012 Book Capital of the World. And instead, holiday and anniversary expenditures are increased.
