YEREVAN. – Armenia’s PM Tigran Sargsyan met Vice President for Compact Implementation for the Millennium Challenge Corporation Patrick Fine on Tuesday. Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. to Armenia Bruce Donahue was also present at the meeting.
PM thanked for the effective cooperation and praised high the course and the outcome of Armenian program. Thousands of people - constructors, organizers, creditors, and teachers - get benefits from the project. We are ready to continue the cooperation and do everything to meet Armenia’s criteria to that of Millennium Challenges Corporation, Sargsyan added.
The sides discussed the continuation perspectives of the Corporation. Fine noted that the important factor for the continuation is the outcome of the first program and the state’s correspondence to the international indexes adopted by the Corporation. These criteria are economic freedom, fair management and investments for the nation.
As a whole, the corporation invested $177 million in the spheres of irrigation and agriculture of Armenia in 2006- 2011.
