YEREVAN. – As of  Thursday 9:25 a.m., there are 97 rescuers working at the landslide zone in Armenia’s Tavush Region; a team from Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) Crisis Control Center, together with paramedics, is also on location. 31 new rescuers also arrived just shortly, MES Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan is on location and heading MES operative headquarters established there.   

At around 9 a.m., a large truck with Bulgarian license plates was removed from the zone, and at 9:25 a.m., a white Volvo truck was removed; this truck’s container was removed on Wednesday evening.  

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, on October 2, a landslide occurred at Vanadzor-Bagratashen section—nearby Ayrum railway station’s bridge and close to Lchkadzor village—of M6 Interstate Highway. The 130-meter-long and 60-meter-deep terrain covered the road, rendering it completely impassable. Around 35 vehicles had remained under terrain. These 5 people are still declared missing: Armen Sorsumatyan (Yerevan resident, born in 1973), Mekhak Sorsumatyan (Yerevan resident, born in 1964), Norik Mirzoyan (Lchkadzor village resident, born in 1939), Arthur Hakobyan (Georgian citizen, born in 1992), and Gurgen Hakobyan (Georgian citizen, born in 1949).
